June is such a joy filled month for me. The 1st is my birthday and I love being able to enjoy all the Pride Festivals and Parades during this time. This year however I have even more to be joyful about. Back in April I received notification that I was nominated for Standout Local Poet in the Tri Cities, WA 1st Annual Queer Choice Awards. The nomination alone was enough to bring me to tears. It’s always nice to be recognized and the news came at a particularly good time for me. I honestly held little hope of actually winning. The Tri-Cities Area is full of amazing poets and I was perfectly happy to be considered in such a great field of artists so I was floored to see my name listed as the winner in Tumbleweird.

So with all that said,
